Duties:

Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current oral health status.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term health.
Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, documenting treatment notes accurately and reviewing medical records for completeness.
Maintain strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures aligned with healthcare standards and HIPAA compliance.
Support the dental team with equipment sterilization, maintenance of dental tools, and preparation of treatment areas for patient care.
Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, including vital signs assessment when necessary, ensuring a positive experience for all ages.

Experience:

Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic environment.
Familiarity with EHR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and pediatric patient care techniques is advantageous.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care.
Experience with dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting during various procedures is beneficial.
Demonstrated ability to adhere to HIPAA regulations, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow infection prevention standards.
Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration; previous experience in dental office or clinic settings is preferred.
