Duties:
  • Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current oral health status.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term health.
  • Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, documenting treatment notes accurately and reviewing medical records for completeness.
  • Maintain strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures aligned with healthcare standards and HIPAA compliance.
  • Support the dental team with equipment sterilization, maintenance of dental tools, and preparation of treatment areas for patient care.
  • Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, including vital signs assessment when necessary, ensuring a positive experience for all ages.

Experience:
  • Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic environment.
  • Familiarity with EHR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and pediatric patient care techniques is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care.
  • Experience with dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting during various procedures is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to HIPAA regulations, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow infection prevention standards.
  • Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration; previous experience in dental office or clinic settings is preferred.
